Position Summary: Gear Advisor, Premium Stringed Instruments

The Platinum and Private Reserve Guitars Guitar Advisor position is responsible for demonstrations and sales of Premium Stringed Instruments, inbound/outbound phone consultations, shipping and receiving, instrument set-up, inventory control, maintaining a detailed customer database, assisting with photography and serial number verification. This position also should have a willingness to learn, a keen interest in guitars and basses, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion to deliver exceptional "concierge" service in which all customers are special.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Sells merchandise to customers in conjunction with answering their questions concerning price, availability, and use of premium stringed instruments.
  • Demonstrates various instruments for customers both in video meetings and over the phone.
  • Performs outbound sales calls to customers while maintaining customer call lists and leads.
  • Takes part in all facets of sales and customer support; a team environment in which all staff share the workload.
  • Provides verbal and/or written clarification of instrument availability status and specifications such as playability, tone, grade of wood, and special characteristics relating to the instruments in stock.
  • Provides recordings and additional photographs of products as requested by customers.
  • Ensures that product meets customer's specifications prior to and after shipment. Including follow-up calls and written communication.
  • Maintains an extensive, detailed customer database for marketing, sales, and customer retention.
  • Tracks customer orders and notifies customers of order status.
  • Performs instrument inspections and special needs set-ups as business dictates.
  • Verifies proper ship methods and upgrades ship methods as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and pricing for methods agreed upon with customers.
  • Verifies accuracy of product photos in order to capture the instruments' best qualities and the provided information is correct.
  • Maintains detailed, current knowledge of guitars and basses, amps and effects, accessories, guitar manufacturers, and user forums.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • High School diploma.
  • One year experience in a retail sales and/or call center environment.
  • Two years' experience playing or repairing guitars.
  • Experience with selling and/or demonstrating musical instruments for customers preferred.
  • Music education or instrument design is preferred.

Pay Rate: $30,000 - $45,000/yr depending on background and experience.
